Where is the darting hatchling

If you stand still, he returns after a few seconds. However, if you chase him, he keeps running, leaving trails of dust the whole time! I'm not sure if there's a time limit on how long he'll keep running if you chase him around, but I was chasing mine around for at least half a minute before I tripped up on something I was in a town at the time.

I believe he just keeps running until he's put some minimum distance between you and him -- if you can keep up with him, I imagine you could chase him all the way across Kalimdor but do note that he does NOT keep running in a straight line. Instead, there are now rare nests that spawn which contain these hatchlings. Rare spawn raptors no longer drop the mini pets; they can only be obtained from the nests.

Nests can only spawn near the location of the rare spawn raptors but not always in the same spot almost certain. Example: Dart's nest can only be found around the location where Dart spawns even if it's not in the same spot where it last spawned.

Nest spawn timer is about the same as rare spawn raptors on LIVE realms. Killed Dart twice, after I killed him today I made another round and his nest was by the northern most tree specified by other post the one above the actual raptors' nest and there it was. I found it at the southern part of the island, to the right of the path, among debris around a tree. Not sure of the despawn time. I found Dart at the top of the area and looked for the nest then, gave up and did the escort quest with Stinky, then stopped back threw and found it after. The nests nearly always spawn at the base of the trees so i tend to use a downwards view and circle every tree in the area marked out by npcscan.

Comment by Confirmed to still be obtainable as of the 4. The zone has been redesigned slightly, but it appears the previously mentioned coordinates will remain mostly valid. The farm is easy enough. It is knowing exactly where to look and this AddOn has all that with ultra accurate coordinates. The download page also lists the approximate respawn timers and provides a link to a video of the AddOn in action!

I'll spell it out here too lol Dart and the hatchling nest spawns are completely unrelated. You do not need to kill Dart to somehow force or encourage the nest to spawn. Dart never did drop a hatchling either.
