Why does midi sound so bad
Why do MIDI files sound so incredibly cheesy? Factual Questions. In the olden days, before MP3, it was the only way to trade songs that sounded decent.
My computer is hooked directly to a stereo system, and MIDIs sound fairly good oooh! MOD files addressed this problem by having the instrument samples imbeded in them.
So, to answer the question. The piece was cheezily performed. You have cheezy speakers. So yes, due to technical limitations, GM files often sound pretty cheezy. Hmm I'm not sure either, haven't used PA for a long time. But failing that, maybe the Proteus LE can be used in standalone mode? I think you have to tell your Cakewalk program which Instrument Definitions to use, and that depends on your card's sound synthetizer; You select those by choosing your available Input Output Midi Ports, or something like that.
I remember Tech Support telling me that years ago when I started using Cakewalk. The bottom line is that you might need to re-configure Cakewalk's audio and Midi parameters.
Cakewalk software will find whatever Midi Synth is available in your computer during a re-config. Thank you for answers! Starting to get a hold of all this now. After many hours I thought you needed to be an ingeneer to get a hold of it all!
Had to look it up on the CD to get that part right! Then I managed to connect a softsynth and everything was good for a start. I also had hours of hours of trying things out before I finally managed to get the sound directed correctly through Patchmix. Now I've downloaded a few more free softsynths and starting building the possible sounds to use. What I so far miss the most is some proper drums and normal instrument sounds more than all kind of typical synth sounds.
Apart from that I am very happy about the sound card and my high quality records. Features like quantization allow musicians to transform flawed performances into musically perfect ones.
In fact, one of the biggest problems with MIDI and electronic music happens when convenient tools make music sound unhuman, cold, and distant. Believe it or not, the inevitable imperfections in what you record are what will help your music listenable and interesting. MIDI is like sanitizer in the ways that it will get rid of the perceived mistakes in your music.
Yet, it can also wipe clean the things that make it unique and compelling. Visit the Marketplace and get exclusive access and discounts to the best musician products and services in the world with your ReverbNation membership.
On its face, having access to every digital instrument imaginable sounds like a good thing. But when you consider the fact that music-makers often thrive by being forced to embrace limitations, this asset can actually be a creative detriment. More instruments means that more choices have to be made during the writing process. This heavy dose of decision-making could distract from the creative urgency that musicians thrive on.
When it comes to translating spur-of-the-moment ideas into music, it can be much easier to grab a guitar or sit down at a piano than scrolling through vast sound libraries to find the perfect virtual instrument.
We are. MIDI offers a massive range of convenient methods to create and edit music. Re: software instruments sound bad with midi interface Thu Jun 06, pm Yes, the first thing would be to share with us what interface you're using?
So not a small keyboard. This taye frequency in Hz should match that of your Logic project. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
